In the last part I went through my process of devising stat lines and abilities for the Turtle faction so they could be played in 7TV2e. This part is about their arch rivals the Foot Clan! That secretive underworld gang led by the Shredder.
So let's start with the main man himself, Oroku-Saki aka the Shredder. This crime lord rules the New York branch of the Foot clan with an iron fist. Shredder had to be the star of the faction and indeed couldn't be anything less than an Underworld Boss, however the On the Payroll star quality didn't sit right with me and I decided to swap it out with Endless Subordinates to represent the multitude of Foot soldiers he can call upon. The special effects I kept the same Leader 1, hard (all that armour!) get into place and block. Stat line wise he comes out like;
Rating Fight. Shoot. Defence. Mind. Body. Spirit.
10. 5. 4. 10. 3. 4. 4.
Next up is Warlord Krang. Krang was stranded on dimension X inside his technologically advanced battle fortress - The Technodrome. Shredder relies on Krang for his steady supply of robot Foot soldiers. With his mechanical body, Krang produces more and more weapons in order for Shredder to get his revenge on the turtles. With this in mind it's simple to call Krang a villainous co-star and I made him a mad scientist (I'm not using Baxter in the faction otherwise he would be the mad scientist). Because Krang is responsible for supplying shredder with the mutagen for Beebop and Rocksteady I left his star quality as "spontaneous mutation" and left his special effects as shown on the card - force shield, gadget, repair, invulnerable but I did adjust his stat line to take into account his robot bod...
Rating Fight. Shoot. Defence. Mind. Body. Spirit.
6. 3. 4. 9. 5. 3. 3.
Providing the muscle is Beebop - a mutated Warthog/Man and Rocksteady - a mutated Rhino/Man. These meat heads were created by Krang to help Shredder destroy the turtles, however although the boys provide the muscle power, they are sadly lacking in the brains department and end up being mostly comic relief. For 7TV2e then I have made them Thugs, a villainous extra. as this category fitted them so well i didn't feel the need to alter any part of it and they have the special effects of Hard, Follow Up and Block
Rating Fight. Shoot. Defence. Mind. Body. Spirit.
3. 4. 4. 9. 2. 4. 3.
Last but not least (well maybe a bit least!) are the Foot Clan soldiers. Not true ninjas, they are in fact robot servitors of Krang, loaned to the Shredder to replace the criminal gang members lost to him by constant fighting with the turtles. This is a bit of a departure from the original comics as the Foot were humans, at least to start with, however they eventually go over to robots. With no thought Shredder throws countless numbers of these in an effort to thwart his enemies. These guys are outright minions so that's what I used for the game. with the special effect Block their statline is below
Rating Fight. Shoot. Defence. Mind. Body. Spirit.
2 . 3. 3. 8. 3. 3. 2.
(5 rating for 3 models)
so thats the Foot Faction, let me know what you think. I will eventually get around to doing a batrep for a game, potentially the one i played recently - who knows!!
Finally i've added below a link to a comic reading website with the Color Classics (yes the US spelling is deliberate) for TMNT so anyone interested can have a little read of the original run of TMNT comics. Interesting note is that all the turtles wear the same colour (proper spelling) bandanas and are only differentiated by the weapons they carry. I think the different colours were introduced with the cartoon to help the kids a bit more (i could be wrong).

You've done a terrific job here, Andy. I will definitely be using these stats for the villains once I get them. I'm placing an order for them all this week, you'll be pleased to hear. I've found all of your posts on the TMNT inspirational. I can't wait for your first batrep.
ReplyDeletethanks Bryan, glad you'll find them useful. i look forward to seeing your villains once they've been through your paint table. i take it they'll be jumping the queue in order to get stuck in with 7TV2e?
DeleteI've played the game now need to write it up although the game was some time ago so i may have to play another....oh no ;-P
Yes, once I receive them they will be jumping to the front of my painting queue. I'm eager to try them out in 7TV2e now that you've done all the hard work in designing stats for all the cast.
Deletehaha took me hours as well! enjoy :-)
DeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Andy!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
ReplyDeleteFinally got around to reviewing all the Turtles posts and it's clear you're a big fan, as the selection of figures and stats you've put together show. Looking forward to seeing your batrep.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of TMNT Jez! Managed to get my missus into the turtles as well, still not sure how that happened!?!
