Zombtober 2017 - Part 5

Hi all

So a little earlier than usual but I'm on nights all this weekend (naturally), we move into the final week of Zombtober and the end of a hectic month as I try to finalise two long years of study (while working full time!), endless assessments, courses and finally an interview into a career as a registered paramedic!  So far so good as I have passed everything to date and now I await my registration application to be processed and a "change of role" start date to be arranged.

Anyhoo enough of RL.

Onto the zombtober post and I've reached the end of my rather ambitious challenge with success! yes that's right I managed to paint a whopping 94 zombies in 5 weeks.  Yes they are to a slightly sub-par standard, but not by much and in the end i'm really pleased with the results.  Here is the last of them, first up the 7 Zombies by Mega Miniatures.

Next we have the single Wargames Factory "Vixens" zombie I have left

bit blurry - sorry

and lastly we have the 7 Mantic "TWD" sculpts, which have been my faves by far!

So we move onto the final "oh shito'meter" photos where we can see all 94 trying to get our heroes "not" Shaun and "not" Ed.

Shaun and Ed at the very top of the pic

and if that wasn't bad enough for our hapless heroes, we have my entire horde - all 174 zombies!!

I think that should be enough for my participation game at PAW in Feb, don't you?

back to regular posting next week
hope you enjoy

  3. What a cracking achievement, Andy. Many congratulations. Your horde looks mightily impressive. Shaun and Ed are dead meat unless they run away as fast as they can.

  4. Stirling effort my man! :-)
I've been looking forward to seeing the final "meter" photo's, and wow!!!
I reckon Shaun and Ed are just about to dive back into the pub, which looks like it's also had a bit more done to it since we last saw it??
Well done on the Zomtober challenge and especially well done on all the career stuff that's been going on in RL :-)

  5. just ideal for that urban mass effect, like you see in all the best movies, where the camera pans out and you go "Oh my GOD! at just how many cadavers there truly are surrounding the shopping mall where the survivors are holed up.

  6. Andy well done on your painting efforts this month you have been an inspiration. My meagre efforts pale into comparison.
In becoming a paramedic well done, it's a hard job as `those in the trade' have told me, but ultimately very rewarding.

    1. Any effort is good effort mate 😉
It can be hard, it can also be real easy (“get on the van!”) and yes it can be rewarding 😊

  7. Congratulations on the horde and your pending qualification. Both are suitably impressive.

For the record, the o-shit-o-meter is clearly at ‘ankle deep’.

    1. They are excellent sculpts, which I haven’t truly done justice too, but they really are the best on the market I think
