Still plugging away with my mega painting challenge. This week I've managed to get another load painted! I'm actually quite shocked myself, although to be fair the painting is very basic indeed. I tried to get a few of the very plain and boring "male zombies" from Wargames Factory completed but faded out after a while - the sculpts are just so soft. Instead I turned back to the very characterful Mega Miniatures.
first are the six "First Responders. These unfortunates were dispatched to the initial outbreak and were caught in the first wave of violence.
next we have a couple of hippies, two old duffers and a businessman
lastly we have an assortment of zeds including four kids in sports gear
so that's a total of 30 painted this week, added to the 16 from week 1 and I'm nearly halfway through my challenge!
Here they are on the updated "oh Shit o'meter" pics
dGG
Good grief... Not only is your "Zomtober" output a great advertisement for "Mega Miniatures", Andy, but you're clearly establishing yourself as a mega-zed painter too!! Blimey, what a rate of knots you're going through them at currently!! They look terrifyingly gory too - which is always a bonus to zombies!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon, I managed to get my head down and get a load of these bad boys done.
DeleteAwesome work, especially as you didn't enjoy some of them, which could have really set you back.
ReplyDeleteThe group shot looks great with them on mass
Another 16 of the “bad” ones to go 😞 but them some really nice TWD minis afterward
DeleteThey may be simple paint jobs but they do look effective. Your output is to be highly commended, Andy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan, they’ll be perfectly acceptable as a horde
DeleteEn mass very impressive indeed. If you don't slow down you'll have everything painted by week 3
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed mate, I want to get back to building my pub!
Delete30!!!!! Oh good grief now I had batter pull my finger out and get more painted.
ReplyDeleteLol, chop chop mate!
DeleteAwesome Andy! You're doing a great job painting your 'Zomtober Horde' as well as having to spend the extra hours devoted to work - well done that man!
ReplyDeleteAm I right in assuming the Wargames Factory male zeds are completely different sculpts to the Warlord Games ones?
The WGF range was adopted by Warlord but I think they dropped the older range. The female zombie vixens were a brilliant boxset but these males are disappointing
DeleteBloody hell, instant horde! What a prolific week you've had - well done dGG.
ReplyDeleteI used one of the kids with the Hockey mask and stick as a survivour as I don't really have enough civvy kids.
Very impressed with this lot
Ha good shout Joe, I don’t have enough civvy kids either
DeleteWow, that is really making my “one mini a week” painting rate look pretty poor! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteSorry dude ;-)
DeleteAwesome output Gobbo! Definitely interesting seeing all these various zombies (of which I do not own any of them). Most of mine are from the Zombicide games, which when getting involved definitely pointed towards being used in other games
ReplyDeleteAnd yet I don’t own any zombicide minis Terry
DeleteBostin effort!
ReplyDeleteTa Brum ;-)
Delete30?
ReplyDeleteIt's people like you that let zombie outbreaks get out of control. Paint slower, for the sake of humanity!
Cracking work. :)
S’true. Ach humanity is overrated anyway
DeleteThat is a horde and a half already.
ReplyDeleteIt’s definitely getting there Mike ;-)
DeleteIt is the end of times
ReplyDeleteSound of fate in the chimes
Up rises the living dead
Filling thoughts full of dread
Creepily moving, ominous woe
Sea of the departed, hobbling slow
Gnarled teeth, eating flesh
Craving blood warm and fresh
Waves of corpses, a lifeless tsunami
Lookout world, here comes the zombies!
Erm..beautiful poetry Steve....lol
DeleteSeriously, good stuff mate
And I thought I was doing well with a dozen figures done. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteCheers dude, I don’t think this week’s output will match it though
DeleteThat is alot of painted Z´s Nice work!
ReplyDeleteCheers dude
DeleteHoly smokes! Like some others have said, I felt good about what I was completing, now I see your output and I'm like miles behind!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha no worries dude, it’s not a sustainable rate
DeleteLook out, look out!! The zombies are comminnnggggg!!!!
ReplyDeleteLol...even more this Sunday 😊
DeleteBlooming 'eck! How many have you painted in one week? And over two?!
ReplyDeleteEven speed-painting zombies I'd not manage to get 46 done in a month, never mind that you're not even finished and have two more weeks to go. Stroll on. I'll be lucky to paint two more.
Can you not go back to painting Bushido figures and give us 'slow 'uns' a chance to catch up...
Lol - ive got some beautiful Bushido minis that need a slap of paint mate but I need to get this horde done so speed painting it is! 😉
DeleteLike Roy and others, I am in awe of your speed da Gobbo Grotto. That is a great looking horde emerging from those 94 minis from week 1. :)
